Women’s health is very important part of our practice. It encompasses many things including breast examinations, cervical screening (pap smears) weight and dietary disorders, family planning, pregnancy care, post natal care, fertility management, menopause and hormone balancing and mental health.
At Miami Village Medical Practice, we have two very experienced female doctors who can assist you with women’s health concerns. Our GP’s are also supported by experienced nurses and a large network of medical specialists that they can refer onto, to help you best manage your health.
What is an IUD?
An IUD or intrauterine device is a small, T shaped frame which is inserted into the uterus or womb by a doctor to assist with prevention of pregnancy and is a very popular choice for women who don’t wish to take oral contraception. Some IUD’s also are also indicated for the management of heavy bleeding or as part of menopause replacement therapy.
Currently in Australia there are two types of IUD:
● Hormonal (Mirena and Kyleena)
● Copper (T and multiload)
Intrauterine devices (IUD) are available at our practice to assist with contraception. The costs for this procedure are below:
Initial consultation – bulk billed
Procedure – total cost of $200 (medicare rebate of $130.25)
Post procedure review – bulk billed
