Meet Our Team
Dr. John Houston
John graduated from Monash University, Melbourne Victoria in 1985. He has practised medicine in the Burleigh Heads and Miami area since 1988. He enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interests in musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, haemochromatosis, skin cancer and minor surgical procedures.
John’s wife Janine is an experienced midwife at Gold Coast University Hospital, with whom John often confers on obstetric matters related to his patients.
Dr. Kate Taylor
Dr Kate Taylor graduated from Sheffield University Medical School in UK in 1998, and then whilst traveling in New Zealand, she met her husband, well known Gold Coast orthopedic surgeon, Dr Fraser Taylor.
Kate and her husband relocated permanently to the Gold Coast in 2013. They have three children in primary school.
Kate enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but her special interests are Women’s Health and Paediatrics.
Dr. Vipul Patel
Dr Vip Patel is from the UK, having grown up in London and completing his medical training at Southampton University in 1992. He gained extensive hospital experience including Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), before embarking on a career in General Practice.
Dr Patel has 20 years of experience working as a full time GP. Initially in the UK as a partner in a large teaching practice in Oxfordshire before migrating to Australia with his wife and 2 children in 2009.
He has been working as a GP on the Gold Coast for 10 years, however he still has his wonderful English accent. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine with particular interests in Men’s Health, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Hypertension, Child Health, Mental Health and Preventative Medicine.
Dr. Katy Osborne
Dr Katy Osborne is a UK vocationally trained GP who spent her time as emergency primary care physician within the NHS for 16 years. Her family decided to make the move to Australia over 4 years ago where she began practicing in health care areas that were remote, such as mine sites, assisting with FIFO workers.
As the only doctor within a 400km radius, her clinical and communication skills were refined using emergency telehealth systems and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Katy with her husband and 2 teenage children are now settled on the Gold Coast.
Katy enjoys all aspects of general medicine, and has a keen interest in pediatrics, women’s health, including fitting and removing implants and intra uterine devices, and emergency medicine. She looks forward to meeting you soon!
Anouska has over thirteen years of senior management experience within the healthcare industry. She is passionate about the health and welfare of others, and ensuring that our practice consistently achieves high standards of patient care.
Anouska’s strengths are her ability to manage a busy team, whilst ensuring all patients and visitors receive the time and attention they need.
